For the Love of Frocks: Tasha Tudor's Favourite Dresses

April 28: Members Only: Dress Exhibit Sneak Peek 4-6pm Charter Members and Tasha Tudor Museum Society Members are invited to join us for a special sneak peek of the new exhibit featuring the historic costumes of Tasha Tudor. Guests will have the opportunity to put on archival museum gloves and touch the 1840’s wool work dress Tasha wears throughout the book Tasha Tudor’s Garden. Curator Leigh Branson will also be available to answer questions and provide more personal details about the favorite frocks on display. Cheese, fruit, and sparkling cider will be served. Free to Members, but RSVP required, please register below.

May 4:  Exhibit Opening with Curator 4-7pm  The museum opens a new exhibit featuring dresses from Tasha Tudor’s historic costume collection. Though much of her collection has been dispersed around the world into the hands of various museums and collectors after the Whitaker-Augusta auction in 2007, Tasha chose to keep a selection of prized dresses, in her words, “very choice.”  Tasha Tudor’s family has graciously allowed our curator to peruse the remaining family heirloom costume collection and display curator selected dresses to the public, many for the first time. Included in the exhibition will be dresses worn, made, and illustrated by Tasha, as well as dresses exquisitely representative of the Romantic Era, Tasha’s favorite period in history.
